It has been an exciting month at Sun for Seedlings! We have said good-bye to all our kinder graduates, and have welcomed all of our new friends! We are excited to have the opportunity to work with all our wonderful new families this year.
The Farmer’s Market has been busy and the students love seeing their hard work come to fruition. The market is donation based pricing, and all proceeds are put right back into our garden program. Thank you for your support! We are very excited that Madrone will be returning this month with her wonderful felted puppets performances. We will also be welcoming Teacher Sarah, who will be expanding our wilderness education program. More information will follow later this month about Sarah’s program. The Family Participation Fee supports our school in expanding on what we can offer. Please remember that families are welcome to donate 2 hours of participation at school in lieu of the $25 fee.
As we approach the colder Fall and Winter months, please remember that students who have a fever, runny nose, diarrhea or are otherwise unwell must be out of school until 24 hours after the last symptoms. Last year, we had many students coming in to school sick, and as a result our teachers had to work sick in order for the school to be open. This year, we will be closed on days that teachers are too ill to attend. Charges will apply for these closed days.
Outdays at Sun for Seedlings can be messy, and students must have extra clothing in their cubbies. Please check frequently that your child has extra clothing in their cubby. In the event that your child needs a change of clothing but does not have any, early pick up will be requested.
